Large Astronomical Telescope
The large direct drive servo motor developed by Physis has been applied to the international large-scale astronomical telescope. Physis has become the global supplier of high-end motion control device for astronomical observatory.
In 2002, the multi-national joint project "ALAM" (The Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array) - astronomical telescope project was launched in Chile desert. After completion, 66 parabolic antennas worked as a huge radio telescope with a resolution of 0.01 arc seconds. It is like being able to see a penny coin 500km away. Physis's customized drive device has been successfully applied to the world's most powerful radio telescope.
